The objective of this project was to analyze a biological structure and write a script that generates a similar form.  Based initially on the repetitious, microscopic pattern of fish gills, this resulting structure has developed its own unique identity. I wrote the simple script that generated and adjusted the unit above as shown on each repetition.  The resulting units were then laser-cut, folded and tabbed together. Material research yielded some interesting paper properties, such as delamination, that were exploited to make a more organic form.
