The following 2 projects are from a third yead Industrial Design Design Communication class. The intention of the class was to build out portfolios by tackling a new skill and developing a product to prove proficiency. I chose these projects because they best represent the scope of instruction I was able to give. The first Student focused on sketching and iterating a new product and the second focused on learning the Rhino programming language Grasshopper, a tool I am familiar with, to develop a parametric manufacturing technique that takes any surfboard surface model and automatically develops the internal structure and prepares it for laser cutting and assembly.

The following are projects from a ID design Communication 1 class. As this was a second year class, one of the focuses was to fill out portfolios by completing a small design project. This was not a studio but my students demonstrated great improvement in presenting ideas and developing a product. Some focused on learning Rhino such as the shoe design while others dove into graphics, architecture or new rendering technique. Working one-on-one with this class was very rewarding because the variety of projects taxed my arsenal of advice and challenged me to brush up my knowledge.
